Andrea's Birthday

Andrea's birthday was May 18th and all day long she was treated like a princess. When she got to work there was a cute little sign on her computer that said "Princess + Cake = Princess Andrea's Birthday!". Her work loves to celebrate everything and there is always food and cake to celebrate with. So at 10:00 in the morning they started the celebration at work. The back room had princess decoration and the first thing you noticed when you stepped in the back was the bright pink cake which had a wearable princess crown and septer. There was a princess bag and inside it was another princess crown. Her coworkers like to joke that she is a princess.

At lunch time Jason came to pick her up from work to go to lunch. He had a huge balloon that said Happy Birthday and a dozen roses. At this point you couldn't step past Andrea's desk without realizing it was her birthday.

After all that rain last week it warmed up for her birthday and we got to enjoy the sun.

After dropping Andrea off at work from lunch Jason had to take the dogs down to the groomers for an appointment to get their hair cut.

BEFORE

We asked for them to look like little lions for their summer hair cut.

... and After:

and Bentley's

Jason brought the poms in to work to show off their new look. When Andrea got home there were cute little cupcakes and more flowers at the door.

We typically just have one big birthday dinner in the middle of our birthday since Jason's is April 12 and they are pretty close. So we already went out for our birthday dinner at Sangria's in Moscow. Andrea ordered a steak and Jason got Salmon. We ordered out pizza on Andrea's birthday though for fun. Afterwards we decided to take the dogs on a walk around the park. They got to chase ducks and see llamas! Prada was pretty emabarrased about her new hair cut and didn't really care for walking, she preferred sitting so that no one would see her near nakedness.

By the time we got home the neighbors came up to surprise Andrea with more cake. This one wasn't pink but was a  delicious ice cream cake. That wrapped up Andrea's 24th birthday!

The rest of the week we plan to finish the ice cream cake and relax, no big plans. Jason will be working on homework since he is doing summer school. He has two courses for this Summer term session- Spanish and Economics. He enjoys the Spanish class because it mostly focuses on translation. The economics class is harder than he expected. Andrea is just busy with work and clearing the graduate students degrees for May 2011.

Royal Wishes and Birthday Celebrations!

As everyone knows, Friday was the Royal Wedding. Andrea watched the wedding with her friend Emily. Everything was beautiful except Beatrice's pink bow hat. Andrea loved Princess Catherine's wedding dress. Maybe we should have a for fun wedding reception so we can all dress up again and Andrea can wear a knock off dress.

Most of this week was all wedding hype but at the Butcherite house it was also busy as we prepared for Prada and Bentley's first birthday! Today they are officially adults, although they may not act like it they are big kids now! We had a little dog party for them and we invited their doggie friends like Elwood, and our neighbors dogs (Buster, Bell, and Sage).

For the puppies we made doggy muffins from scratch. Andrea got the recipe from Emily. It was mostly made from wheat flour, honey, mash banana's, and carrots with some seasoning like cinnamon and such. All the puppies enjoyed it and got to take some home after the party.

We also celebrated the doggies party by having lots of munchies. We had chicken/pineapple kabobs, hot dogs, fruit salad, broccolli salad, and rolls. For dessert we had angel food cake since the pups are our little angels

They got a new toy from us and Elwood spoiled them. Elwood gave Prada and Bentley each a new bone, a bag of treats, and 4 new squeaky toys.

After the party was over we let the puppies take us on a walk so they could go wherever they wanted on their birthday. They ended up taking us on a loop that ended at the dog park. Since there were no dogs at the dog park we closed it off and let them run around and play together for the first time. They had a lot of a fun and Prada can show that off because she got muddy paws there. After cleaning her paws off and relaxing at home they enjoyed the day out on the deck chewing their new bone. Today was a good day not only because of the birthday but it was a nice sunny day to sit outside on the deck with the pomeranians.

By the end of the night the poms were pooped...

Tomorow is the beginning of finals week. Jason's last final is friday and then we goes immediately into summer session.

Easter Weekend

Our home was decorated with bunnies and chickens to prep for the Easter weekend. We didn't too much in terms of Easter celebration but we stayed busy, especially with family & friends.

This week Jason's older sister Jessica made a quick visit. Her and her boyfriend stayed over night and we enjoyed a nice breakfast at Old European. Needless to say this Easter Weekend probably put 5 pounds on Andrea and Jason managed to keep his consistent weight like usual. Just as they were heading out Andrea's parents came to visit for the weekend. They brought their dog, Kipper. Kipper doesn't really like anyone but the direct family but she is starting to warm up to her cousins Prada and Bentley. Kipper is an Australian Sheppard and has never been truly groomed so Andrea gave her a thorough hair cut. Although the hair cut looked really good you would have though Kipper was a black sheep from the behind.

Andrea and her mom did lots of shopping to celebrate Easter and splurge! Andrea bought some stuff for the puppies since their 1st birthday is coming up in less than a week. She also bought chairs for the deck for when it gets nice and sunny. Her favorite thing she bought this weekend were new shoes.

On Easter sunday we went out to Sellas for lunch. Then went home and watched TLC's Royal Wedding Week. As the royal wedding approaches Andrea is anxious to see Kate Middleton's dress mots of all.

That night we went down to our neighbors for more Easter celebration. We enjoyed an Easter ham, Easter trivia, dying eggs, and a board game. After dying the eggs we rolled them down the hill to see whose egg would win the race. Seems like a fun tradition even though neither Jason or Andrea won. Jason lost almost right away because his rolled and then broke. Andrea lost one egg in the sewer and her second egg was stuck in a crack.

Bentley night nighting at the end of the day...

It is back to work as we count down the days to the Royal Wedding and Prada and Bentley's 1st birthday which is May 1! It is deadweek for Jason as he prepares for finals and Andrea is staying busy at work helping students prepare for graduation and commencement.

Here are some videos of the Pomeranians at play...

OUCH! Jason lost a bit of his finger!

It has been awhile since the last update. The last time we updated we were just beginning March Madness. Well it has been awhile since UConn won the championship so let's find out whose bracket won this year at the Butcherite house. In order of winner we have...
1.) Andrea
2.) Jason
3.) Prada &  Bentley

Although WSU didn't make it to March Madness we did pretty good in the NIT and made it to the final four. We went to a couple of the games. Although Andrea only made it to the game against Oklahoma. She got really sick in March and had to call in sick from work. Here we are at the WSU vs. Oklahoma game.

This last photo was taken on our TV at home (Jason records all the games) and we had really good seats so we watched the game to see if we made it on TV. If you look carefully you can see us... Andrea's blond hair stands out behind the lady with the white vest.

We also had lots of visits this week. Jason's mom and sister came up for a visit during their Spring break for fun. Stephanie, Andrea's sister flew over to Pullman to put extensions in Andrea's hair. For mom's weekend Andrea's mom came up to visit for a few days.

For mom's weekend Andrea still had to work her normal schedule so there wasn't too much to do on Thursday or Friday afternoon. We enjoyed eating out but the real fun came friday night at the WSU fashion show put on by the Apparel Merchanding department. That was really fun. The first part of the show had clothes made from recyclable material like plastic, soda lids, and even VHS film. The still looked amazing! After that was the themed projects from students.

Jason worked Friday and Saturday so it was mostly Andrea and her mom going out on the weekend. They also went to the Vet open house and got some free treats for the pups, they were happy about that. Than they went to the craft fair.

Jason was scheudled to work nearly 12 hours on Saturday it was so busy with the flood of moms. As night drew on he became a little more tired and I guess you could say careless because as he chopped up a chicken he sliced his finger. He took a good chuck of his finger and finger nail clean off. He was bleeding pretty bad and had to go to the emergnecy room where he got bandaged up and had to take Xrays.

Jason's finger the bowl

In the middle of the night the Pomeranians pulled his bandage off and dragged the bandage to the end of the bed.

Needless to say his finger hurts quite a bit. He has some pain medacine and his finger will take at least 6 weeks to heal.

Prada and Bentley's First Hair Cut!

This week started with March Madness. Jason and Andrea made their bracket this year for the NCAA tournament. Jason has Duke winning the tournament and Andrea has Kansas. There is still a lot of points and games left in the tourney but so far and hopefully not to jinx anyone but Andrea is winning.

Prada and Bentley decided to join the March Madness tradition and create a bracket as well. Andrea had toys out to represent teams and Bentley and Prada would go up and pull on the team the wanted to win. Andrea did not sway their opinion in any specific direction, but they sure are on the same team as Andrea when it comes to the final champion because they also have Kansas winning. However their final 4 is not your usual final 4 team. They have Washington State, Temple, Kansas, and Kansas State... they are just pomeranians so we will see how they do. In case you want to see who Prada and Bentley are rooting for here is their bracket:

Also this week Jason was on Spring Break... in Pullman! At least he could relax and focus on playing games and catching up to basketball. Andrea and Jason both got sick this week though.

We got too excited about our birthdays coming up and started giving each other early early birthday presents this week. Jason got a new fancy razor so far. Andrea got all her presents she wanted and got 4 new cartridges for her cricut for scrapbooking.

Prada and Bentley got their FIRST hair cut today!  We took them to Zelda's pet grooming in Pullman and for about $40 a pomeranian we got their hair cut, bathed, nails trimmed, and ears cleaned. They were happy that they came home all squeaky clean.

Before the hair cut:

And After...

Bentley just wanted his dinner after all that grooming. When Andrea picked them up they even had cute little gender stereotypical handkerchiefs! Bentley got a blue handkerchief, even though he is our little diva. It has little ducks on it. Prada's is purple and yellow flowers... which Jason will not be thrilled with since those are UW Husky colors. It's okay though because they are cute!

Go Cougs!

Bentley is finally over his Diva stage and has fully recovered loosing his manhood! He unfortunately has picked up a new hobby... find mommy and daddy's shoes then drag them across the apartment and nibble on it. Prada is starting to teach her brother how to bark occasionally at nothing. Both pups are full of  fluff and desperately need to go to the groomers!

Jason is busy with group projects as Spring break draws near. Our plans for Spring Break... NOTHING!

We have covered the basketball games from California this season. We went to the home games against Standford, USC, and UCLA. We only won 1 of the games but all games were extremely close and we almost had it. The last one was an intense game that went into over time, we couged the game but did better than Andrea expected with 2 of our star athletes out of the game (aka Klay and Reggie). Even if we go to the game Jason records it at home and watches the highlights all over again. We like ending the game by treating ourselves at Dairy Queen for a blizzard with our friends Emily and Jake.

Andrea is feeling the Cougar spirit lately. She signed up to be a part of the Alumni Association with WSU. And she also registered for an application for season tickets to our mens basketball games for 2011-2012. She is not soo much interested in the football games for two reasons, 1 theres only a few games where the sun is out and she doesn't want to pay to freeze her butt off. 2, our football teams needs a lot of improvement.

Andrea enjoys the drama from the reality show Real Housewives of...(insert city name). She even has started inviting friends over on Friday nights to make a party of catching up on the weekly shows.

Our plans for Disney World is all set! We have everything booked and planned out as if we were leaving tomorow. Even our lunch/ dinner reservations are made. We are excited to spend our 2nd anniversary in sunny Florida this year. The children (Prada and Bentley) will be babysat by their grandparents and Aunt Purdy!

One Unhappy Puppy

Boy is Bentley mad at the world right now, he just had his manhood taken away. Bentley was neutered on Tuesday and has not been taken it very well.

He didn't have stitches so he did not receive a cone at first and they just told us to make sure he does not lick the area. We knew to watch for that because we went through this with Prada. When Prada was fixed she was a trooper and it didn't phase her too much. Bentley on the other hand was irritated like no other and all he wanted to do was lay on the blanket and try to get at it. So, Andrea had to improv by making a diaper for him out of some old panties to try and cover the area. I think it just embarrased him to top off the pain, after all they were bright pink!

Even with the pink panty he wasn't doing so well and maybe he was embarrased to walk around in a pink panty but he didn't want to walk. Instead he would dash from comfy blanket to bed and from the couch to the pet bed. He was not happy and not comfortable. His incision started to open a little but no blood was coming out. He just wanted to lay around like this:

We called the vet they said it was nothing to be too concerned about and put neosporin on the incision. As time went on he just seemed too much in pain and Andrea was stressed over it so she had Jason take him to the vet to check it out and at least get a cone for him.  He did and the vet said there was also a slight skin infection probably from him getting to the area so the doctor had to give him a shot of anitbiotics which caused him to hate the doctor more than anything, he gave a death cry and ran to daddy! When Bentley came home he no longer had his pink panty but was sporting a blue collar to help him stay away from the area. He still isnt very active and not happy unless mommy is holding him. He has his minor freak outs but we are doing everythign to help him feel better about losing his manhood.

Prada also wants her brother to feel better and gives him friendly kisses to help ease the pain.

On another note... Jason and Andrea have have plans for our 2nd anniversary and summer vacation. We are going to Disney World this summer!! The puppies will probably not be happy about us being gone, but we are excited.
